Editing Process

Once all footage has been captured, stored, and backed up, we begin the edit phase. The first rough cut can take anywhere between two - five business days depending on the complexity of the shoot and details of the edit. Visual effects will be assessed and addressed separately in the edit process as this process can vary in length depending on complexity. Each project is allowed an initial rough cut, and three revision passes after that. Each revision pass that goes after the initial three that are allowed will cost an additional 10% of the total budget which will be added to the final invoice that is to be paid before receiving final master files.

Sending Editing Files

In the event that a film that was shot by Enlighten Creative Studio is to be handed off to a third part editor/edit house, the following steps will be be completed to ensure everything is handled correctly.

  • All footage files, project files, and assets (If any) will be duplicated onto a secondary portable hard drive. Original footage will be stored at the Enlighten Creative Studio office.
  • Once the copy is created, the new duplicated hard drive will then be shipped out via Fedex priority mail within three days upon completion of the transfer.
